Terry and Debbie Schrag started Cannonball Engineering, LLC, in 1999, after innovating new features for a better bale bed. Headquartered in Kingman, KS, they chose the name because of the historic Cannonball Stage Line that ran by their farmhouse in the late 1800s.

Cannonball Engineering has enjoyed a 26% average increase in annual sales for past six years. In 2007 the Kansas Department of Commerce honored Cannonball Engineering as Manufacturing Firm of the Year in their division.

The corporate offices in Kingman handle all of the final production, sales, service, installations, and warranty resolution. Click here for full contact information.

Terry Schrag was a school teacher and farmer with no formal engineering training. But he could see new ways to make things work. He made the first flex-plow and semi hay trailers that could automatically load and unload. He has a knack for engineering.

As a farmer, Terry saw that bale beds could do more if they were engineered better. The arms could move independently. The bed could hook-up to trailers. It could dump, too. In 1999 Terry built the prototype of the Cannonball Bale Bed in his farm shop in just three days. That first bed is still running today.

Cannonball continues to be successful because of this innovation, quality workmanship, and reasonable prices. "I don't know of any customer that wouldn't invite us over for dinner," says Terry. "We take care of our people, because we care to earn that kind of respect."
