We've had so many great entries over the years. It has always been extremely difficult choosing winners. Here are a few examples.
Kent A.
The most recent winner of a big prize was Kent A. from Nevada, MO. He won a wireless remote for his useful idea of hauling his electric wheelchair with his Cannonball.
Lawrence B.
Lawrence from Texas won a first place prize for his recycling use of a casket vault. He used his Cannonball Bale Bed to help a family down on their luck move Grandpa's casket to a different cemetery to respect Grandmother's last wishes. Everything went well with the move, but the vault lid already had a crack, so they had to get a new vault. Lawrence hauled the old one out to the farm for disposal, but he decided that a good clean with a high pressure hose and some strong detergent could turn it into a water trough.
Ed S.
Ed was one of the first Cannonball Bale Bed owners, and he has entered multiples uses for the Contest. He also once used the bed arms to lift his anhydrous tank, which had a flat. He also showed moving an empty liquid fertilizer tub cradled in the arms with a lasso around the top. He won with the leisure side of Cannonball: hanging a hammock from the arms and taking a siesta.
Shon W.
Shon from Morrill was run off the road by a herd of deer early one morning. He had a goose neck trailer behind loaded with horses. The shoulder was too soft for the truck to pull both itself and the trailer up onto the pavement. He unloaded the horses, unhooked the trailer, and drove the truck onto the road. He reached under the goose neck with one Cannonball arm and lifted the trailer legs off the ground and scooted it multiple times. Eventually he was able to get the trailer legs on the pavement and use the dump feature with the trailer hookup to fully retrieve the trailer.
Mark T.
Mark demonstrated the recreational side of Cannonball with a description of his Cannonball deer stand. In an open, tall grass prairie, where his truck was hidden, he fastened his deer stand to the bed so that his handheld remote control could lift the bed high enough to spot deer. The one thing Mark didn't tell us was whether or not he actually got a deer!
